Do memory supplements work? Mostly the evidence is thin. NCCIH calls the evidence for most supplements inconclusive, limited or inconsistent, and the large ginkgo trial found no lower dementia rate. Some small studies show modest signals. No trial has tested MemoPryl itself.

Do memory supplements work for most people?

The evidence is weak. The NCCIH digest says it is inconclusive, limited or inconsistent for most supplements (NCCIH, Supplements and Cognition).

The National Academies found "insufficient evidence" for supplements other than B12 with folic acid, and said commercial brain games are not covered by training findings (National Academies 2017 report).

That does not prove none help anyone. It means a buyer should not expect a clear result.

What do trials show for ginkgo, phosphatidylserine and bacopa?

Small signals at best. The bars show the amounts that studies used, not a suggested dose.

In the GEM trial of 3,069 adults aged 75 or older, ginkgo did not lower dementia or Alzheimer's rates (DeKosky 2008, GEM trial, JAMA). In a trial of 78 adults, phosphatidylserine showed no difference from placebo on the full sample (Kato-Kataoka 2010, soy PS trial). A bacopa meta-analysis found it may improve attention speed (Kongkeaw 2014, Bacopa meta-analys.).

Does that mean MemoPryl works?

Nobody can say. No trial has tested MemoPryl, and no amounts are printed on any image we have.

The label wording, like "Optimized Memory*", is a structure/function claim that FDA does not pre-approve (FDA, Structure/Function Claims).
